Illinois Eye Infirmary, Chicago, IL
Medical College of Virginia
“I enjoy caring for my patients with compassion and concern for both their physical and emotional wellbeing. It’s important to be thoughtful and thorough in treating their eye conditions and giving them the highest possible comfort level. I strive to be as pleasant as I am professional.”
Focused on following in his father’s footsteps as an ophthalmologist, the younger Dr. Watt received his B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College before earning his medical degree from Northwestern University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Ophthalmology Residency at the Medical College of Virginia, and after working as a general ophthalmologist, did his Retina Surgery Fellowship at the Illinois Eye Infirmary in Chicago.
After founding Retina Associates in 1990, Dr. Watt helped build the practice and establish its reputation for providing exceptional patient care and client service. He has served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at the Anne Arundel Medical Center and was on staff at both Johns Hopkins University and the Wilmer Eye Institute for the better part of two decades.
Dr. Watt is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, where he served as a board member. Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he is licensed to practice in Maryland and Virginia. His particular professional passions include caring for patients with complicated retinal surgical problems.
Respected by peers and patients alike for his scope of medical skills, Dr. Watt is equally multitalented in his personal pursuits. He is an avid tennis player, an accomplished snow skier and an experienced boater, who enjoys family outings on the Chesapeake Bay.
