Dr. Venkat’s coast-to-coast education and training began at the University of Southern California – Los Angeles, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Humanity. Dr. Venkat went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University, where she also subsequently completed a Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Venkat continued her training with an internship in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at George Washington University. During her dual fellowship training in both Medical Retina and Uveitis at Cleveland Clinic’s Cole Eye Institute, Dr. Venkat was awarded the 2018 Outstanding Clinical Fellow Teaching Award.
Dr. Venkat is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and also a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, as well as the Cleveland Ophthalmologic Society. She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Venkat’s research has been published extensively in peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as presented at leading medical meetings. She has authored numerous medical textbook chapters on ophthalmologic conditions, and has participated in over 15 clinical trials related to ophthalmologic disease.
