“I approach the treatment of my patients like I would my own family. It’s an incredible experience—and a huge responsibility—to use cutting-edge advancements to restore someone’s eyesight. Making a difference in a person’s life is uniquely rewarding to me and I’m honored to be part of this profession.”

It is appropriate that Dr. Kasi’s postgraduate training has taken him from coast to coast; his preparation to work in the professional field of ophthalmology has seen him experience–and excel in–a wide range of impressive appointments.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, both as a Summa Cum Laude undergraduate Economics major and from its highly regarded medical school, Dr. Kasi went west to do his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of California-San Francisco. He then returned to the east coast and completed a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia where he was also a Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.

Those years of matriculation and medical training brought Dr. Kasi a myriad of academic accolades and recognition. He earned both Phi Beta Kappa (undergraduate) and Alpha Omega Alpha (med school) honors and went on to win the Gary & Helen Phillips Prize, awarded to Penn undergraduates who go on to rank among the Top 5 students in their medical school class. It was those and several other academic achievements that afforded him the opportunity to supervise the residents at Wills Eye Hospital and Emergency Department, provide in-patient consultation for patients with vitreoretinal diseases and oversee the repair of ruptured globes. He also found time to volunteer at several eye clinics, assisting in cataract surgeries for members of the local community.

Dr. Kasi has contributed to articles in such peer-reviewed publications as the American Journal of OphthalmologyJournal of VitreoRetinal DiseasesOphthalmology Retina and Retina Today, serving as a section co-editor for the latter. He has presented at conferences for many of the field’s leading organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Retina Society, and American Society of Retinal Specialists.
