Jeanette Du, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist at the Retina Group of Washington. She began her studies at Duke University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and graduated Magna Cum Laude with distinction in Neurosciences. She then attended the University of Virginia to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree. Her post-doctoral training continued with a medical internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital in New York, followed by a residency in Ophthalmology at the prestigious New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai where she was awarded the Louis J. Girard, M.D. Award for Resident Research. She then completed a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and diseases at the Retina Group of Washington.

Dr. Du has demonstrated her commitment to advancing the field throughout her training and career. She has published papers in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including Journal of Neuroscience, Ophthalmology Glaucoma, Journal of Glaucoma, Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Ophthalmology Retina, Eye, American Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports, and Journal of Vitreoretinal Diseases. Her research has been presented at national and international meetings, including the American Society of Retina Specialists, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Vit-Buckle Society, and Atlantic Coast Retina Club. She is equally invested in teaching and giving back to the community. While in New York, she mentored medical students and provided free eye care services through the health outreach ophthalmology clinic. She continues to participate in the medical education of ophthalmology residents at the Washington Hospital Center Eye Clinic. She has also traveled internationally for mission work.

Dr. Du is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO) and is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO). She is licensed to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and conversational in Spanish. As a native of Virginia, she enjoys running on local trails, hiking in the Shenandoah, figure skating, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her husband and son.
