On March 8, 2020, RGW’s Reginald J. Sanders, M.D., will receive the prestigious Professional Service Award for excellence in eye care from the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (POB). Dr. Sanders will be honored at the POB’s annual Celebrate 20/20 event, previously known as the Night of Vision Gala, which brings together over 150 of the area’s most prominent ophthalmologists and philanthropists to recognize outstanding ophthalmologic expertise.

Dr. Sanders is the fourth RGW physician to be presented with the Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington’s esteemed Professional Service Award. Previous RGW recipients include Richard A. Garfinkel, M.D., William S. Gilbert, M.D., and A. Raymond Pilkerton, M.D.
